Course Description

The Educator’s Guide to Virtual Museum Creation invites educators to explore a creative approach to teaching that blends storytelling, technology, and curriculum driven learning. This course shows how virtual museums can transform lessons into immersive experiences that spark curiosity, creativity, and deeper understanding for learners of all ages.

Course Logistics

FORMAT: Online, Instructor-led, Weekly-paced course

LENGTH: 4 weeks

PARTICIPATION: Students should expect to spend approximately 2-3 hours per week on readings, video discussions, text-based forum discussions, and assignments.

LIVE DISCUSSIONS: Discussions will be held using Google Meet

  • A one-hour live discussion will be held two times through the course.
  • Final dates/times will be determined by the instructor at the start of the course.
  • Discussions are recorded in case a participant is unable to attend the live sessions.

 

MATERIALS: The instructor will provide all reading materials.

TECHNOLOGY: Participants will need access to internet and a desktop computer, laptop, or tablet to participate in this course. For the live discussions, we recommend having access to a camera and a headset, earbuds, or other audio and microphone device. 

CREDIT: Successful completion of this course (B or higher) will earn a professional development certificate from Learning Resources Lab.
